aloha, i've just joined this tribe....so i thought i would introduce myself. my name is leilani and i live in northern cali. i have many many mediums, but most of what i am always trying to sell is bead work. i am interested in meeting some people who would want to:
get together and make art together.
brainstorm about some possibilities for sales,
go in on booths or keep each other up on possible seeling oportunities.
and mostly i would so love to meet someone who would want to sell my art for me!
gosh thats probably every artists dream. just make the work and someone else does all the footwork to sell it. i have asked several people close to me if they would do it, but so far i have yet to meet anyone who wants to do this.recently i am so burnt out on trying to sell art i have asked even my pops and family..... i thought about taking out an ad in some papers looking for someone to represent me, but well...hmmm i just feel silly about silly stuff sometimes....and i sort of doubted i would get any response. wouldnt be great if there were some people out there who maybe didnt make art (or you know real earthy grounded artists)but had a good business mind for selling....and you know they could take on a bunch of artists and just make a job out of representing them. i know there are some possibilities out there in the world, in bigger cities and i guess thats the whole point of galleries too....but i am just thinking more informal, or more active about selling the art, travelling around and getting people to buy it as a representitive.
well any one with any suggestions, half baked ideas or what not ....please feel free to contract me. i love to make new friends!
