You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands)
No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?" Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!... Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something

OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the
latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are
joining the Internet and reading these articles everyday? JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when
there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the Internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual Internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will really work. God bless you!

Talented/original bands from our city, poets, Dj's, crafts, live painters, and all that reflects artistic expression. This is and event for the artistic community and for all of those who appreciate it.

The event will be held at Churchills Pub on Saturday April 28th. The outside stage will carry an "open mic format". We want to invite poets, and acoustic performers to come and express themselves. All interested must send us their name so that they can be put on the Performer's Guest List. You will have 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the waiting list) to share your material to the attendees.

We're also looking for live painters, and people in film to participate in the event. There's a big projector/dvd player available. Just send us your name.

introducing myself

aloha, i've just joined this tribe....so i thought i would introduce myself. my name is leilani and i live in northern cali. i have many many mediums, but most of what i am always trying to sell is bead work. i am interested in meeting some people who would want to:
get together and make art together.
brainstorm about some possibilities for sales,
go in on booths or keep each other up on possible seeling oportunities.
and mostly i would so love to meet someone who would want to sell my art for me!
gosh thats probably every artists dream. just make the work and someone else does all the footwork to sell it. i have asked several people close to me if they would do it, but so far i have yet to meet anyone who wants to do this.recently i am so burnt out on trying to sell art i have asked even my pops and family..... i thought about taking out an ad in some papers looking for someone to represent me, but well...hmmm i just feel silly about silly stuff sometimes....and i sort of doubted i would get any response. wouldnt be great if there were some people out there who maybe didnt make art (or you know real earthy grounded artists)but had a good business mind for selling....and you know they could take on a bunch of artists and just make a job out of representing them. i know there are some possibilities out there in the world, in bigger cities and i guess thats the whole point of galleries too....but i am just thinking more informal, or more active about selling the art, travelling around and getting people to buy it as a representitive.
well any one with any suggestions, half baked ideas or what not ....please feel free to contract me. i love to make new friends!

2007 haight street fair / needs your support!

Well, here the Haight Street Fair is in 2007 with a small minority of squeky wheels making some noise about our fair.

In Pablo's passing a two year old group has increased their demands on us. Some folks from the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council (H.A.N.C.) have heard gossip of their intentions of either trying to take over the fair or force us under their control.

Members of the Haight Street Fair Board have sat in a few meetings with HAIA, CVIA HANC (the real group that represents the neighborhood, without having to say it) and a couple of other groups that are out of the haight village or have one member Impovement Group status.

Supivisor Ross, District 5; has hosted a few meetings for us. He has been helpful in trying to create some fair ground for everyone. With all of his efforts we are still in conflict with a group that does not act in good faith towards us.

In one meeting that Ross called in city hall a member of the HAIA, Michael O'Connor (Whom is a third owner of the nightclub, THE INDEPENDENT; on Divisidaro St) spoke out strongly against the Haight Street Fair. Thanks Michael O'Conner!

We went into our ISCOTT hearing last Thursday and the president Mr. Lee put a hold on our street closure permit hearing for two weeks.

Please spread this information out!

The attack on street fairs is an increase of killing SF culture.............I love my urban city very much............and do take seriously that WE here in SF are in the middle of a culture war right now.

Brad and the How Weird Street Fair got their permits after being rejected. But with huge new demands, their time was cut from 8pm to 6pm, and Brad cannot have his fair there in 2008!

I use acrylic of vinyl, applied with a teeny tiny brush.... tediously for a very long time. :) I will do requests/custom orders.
For those of you freaking out like "oh my god how can you ruin a record like that???" Answer: for 1 , I generally only paint on stuff too scratched to play enjoyably...or, 2ndly, the band really sucks and I like the label too much. get over it. :)

My KATRINA experiance: WARNING VERY VIOLENT CONTENT

was locked up for a misdormeaner and a probation hold 30 day's before the storm( in orleans parrish prission)
5 day's before the storm.........they turned off the t.v. privledges.......after we saw the storm on the news\
4day's prior.they turned off the phones.................so we could not call out for help becouse they were leaveing us there
we had just elected a new sherriff Marlyn Gusman
The privios sherriff always eveacuated for even the minorest of hurrricains
3 days prior........they moved me over to the Old Parrish prison.where they house capitol offender's only....I.... was a misdormeaner
2 days prior.......we had no idea how bad the storm had become.no t.v............no phones.
I started haveing a premonition while me and this terot card reader named Evil sat in the ever becomeing more crowded
corner.....he asked if I'd ever astol projected I said no...he said let me teach you..
we put our hands togeter and meditated ..he tought me how.........He asked if I could see his girlfreind out there.
I described her ...he even seemed amazed.........I told him she was on the street's.and she had two cat's in a backpack
he said" what do the cat's look like" ........I described them........he flipped out.............
again and again he came to me that night asking me if she was o.k...........then I saw it......
They are on a balconey.......and there is water everywhere,,,,,,,,,,boat's....it's looks like venus.
that didn't really make scence to us becouse we'd had storms before.but.never anything like I was seeing
He said .they?.who is she with.......I said a little girl........ (he latter found out that his girlfrend had found a lost child
and she protected the girl durring the storm, while they waited for the boats .on a balconey .in french courter)
He said...is this now or what I said no..I don't think so....it's the storm.it's comming big
Then he said focus.what about me....what is going to happen to me.........I said..You've got blood on your face n hands
1 day prior.......They moved us all to the top floor..turned off the A.C...........We were packed like rats in a teir meant for 50 we had over 500
shoulder to shoulder....over 120degrees....they came in and thew a bag of rice crispy treats on the floor and quikly slammed the door closese ....we all nearly killed each other to get a bit.and that was our last meal.for the next 6 days
The morning of...........the power went out......the water went out...the toilets over flowed unto the floor....and that became our drinking water for the next 5 days.......I looked out the window and the storm had begun.I asked Evil if this was the hurricaine.he said no.he said.when you see that yellow pedestrain crossing sign out there start running...that'll be the hurricain........an hour latter...that sign was fopping back and forth so fast that the man icon on the sign was LITTERALLY RUNNING!!!!!!! then it blew awy staight up in the air.until it looked like a kite in the far off distance.........the small window got too foogy to see..but we could hear the God awfullist explosins and train sounds....it didn't last very long though.we thought we were in the eye.......the windows still foggyy.I grabed evil and said..........man is that water out there? it's moveing like Mississippie river........he loooked and said hell no.couldn't be.............but he was wrong..........We marked the water by the hour aginst a stone wall by the courthouse......a ft. per hour at least it rose that day and rose more (over for 3 days) we just knew we would die here
that night the guards came the the door and said we'er all trapped surrounded by 24 ft. of water..........
and this is word for word what they said............we don't give a fuck about you mother fuckers.we've got lived ones to think about.....so you bitches can burn this motherfucker down,rape, fucken kill eack other in there...we ain't comeing in there to get none of you....we know were getting sued and we'd dont' care if we lose our job.......gooby WE BEGGED FOR AT LEAST A FLASHLIGHT..THEY LAGHFT AND SHUT THE DOOR. AND THAT'S THE LAST TIME WE SAW THEM FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS NO FOOD NO WATER NO LIGHTS NO Meds NO HELP FOR WHAT WAS TO COME///////////
That night............It was so dark you could not see a hand in front of face...........They (inmates)started setting fire's
I screamed...stooooooooooop.carbon monoxide.....they didn't care.......they started a tribal rythmatic beating on the walls......dancing around the fires..( my dad , who was in florida at the time recalls witchen CNN AND SEEING LIVE FOOTage of the priison on fire, saying to himself God I hope my son ain't in there, and that's exactly were I was) like a sceen from lord of the flies..............enemies were screeming at each other thought thew chicken wire that had had separrated them for these past year while they awaited trall...remmember this was a capitol offence teir.........they were saying thing to each other like yaaaaaa I killed your brother.I raped your mother ..........Then they started dragging people out to the back and rappeing them.....they would screem for a moment then it would stopp sudenly..we knew theere was a killing but it was to packed to see far
The they ripped the ceoiling out and everyone pulled oput the metal pipe casings from around the wires.sharpened on both ends we all now had swords and spears.........they ripped up the chichen wire in the back of the teir thsat separatted the enemies....
and both side's poored into one another....it sounded like a scean from braveheart ahhhhhhhhhhhhhahhhhhhhhrarrrrrrrrr and the ching chin sound of metel and iron crashing together
that lasted all night and reoccered every night for the next 5 days......I hid under a table that night with a lot of othe scare white boy's...they were holding on to me so tight saying What was that What was that What was that What was that and we all just knew we weweregoing to die
But i made up my mund that I was not going to die.....I remmebered somthing.I learned in the Marine corp..
I tied my shoe strings together looped them though one shoe as a trip wire
Evrey time some-one would get close to the table to assalt one of us i would slipp of my shoe
slide out from under the table and with my pipe and star upwarthrusting and jugging the unssuspecteing assailent
that went I noticed evil who was also fight with me.......he had blood all over his face and hand and so did I..the premonition was revealed to be true

the next morning...it looked looked helter skelter blood all over the walls scalp on the bars.. the water had risen in the teir.. knee level.. we would just piss and shit right where we stood..... bodie under water nad no bubbles coming up...........The big guy's on the teir were making every one work to burst out the windows( it took us all 2 days to punch a air hole though 1 window)
It was over 120 degrees with no air and no drinking water
that was how was spent every day....every night fighting.......day working-slaveng for the big guys
We finally got one window open(day3)- there was nationalgaurd outside in a armored boat
ther was a family floating on a rooftop
we saw a man get sucked into a drainage pipe in front of his family
we screamed at them all.haeeeeeellllpppppppp there fuckeing over us in here but no-one gave a shit.
they had to have been hearing the constant construction work we'd been doing the last few day's any way.......
On the 5th day........the warden came to the door and said o.kk. we'll try to get survivors out today
we didnt belive him and we'd tried to take him hostage.(well they did.my hands are dirty enoughf.gatta draw the line)
that afternoon.......we heard a load bang,,,,,,,swatt team and angola riot squad in full armor,electric shelds,a.r.service rifles.shotgus and hand guns they kicked in the door,and.............flooded the teir screamind .......get the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck on the ground
it was an impressive opperation......they stripped us doiwn naked.......and file us out though the courthouse.....there wereso many deputies shouilder to shoulder on both side all with shotguns all the way too the steps of the court house
and to think not one of these fucks ever came to check on us in there.....and what was this they have air conditioner........
we were introduced to the sherriff.....who told us that we'er to be loaded into air boats and we'd have to swim to the interstate.....he told us that any one who ran would be shot...........We got into air boatss.I asked the boat driver if he thought this storm was worse then cameal..he sai shhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiit we picked up ove 50 bodies between here and the interstate yesterday..the I saw I body pinned againsta razor wire fenc bloated floating smokey grey with leaves and debree all over it...............
thre brouth us to the inter state......we could see the whole city...the appocalipse........smoking buildings downtown......gunfire.people walking with nowhere t0o go.............they still did not feed us for 2 more daqys.we stayed on the interstate until a carevan of transport vehicles came to get us............they took the long rout to hunts penatentury.........
The night mare was not near over.......................we got to hunt's inside a razor wire feild they had a few tent's set up to house thousnads of prissoners from every parish around..............this was to be called tent city...as soon as you entered the gate........or should I sai as soon as you were thrown in........you had to walk this line inmates on both side bent over shapeing shanks.....pipes.and toothebrushes....for hundreds of feet
there was violence and killing everywere...................
any time anyone ran to the gate to get help they were shot
several days latter I was taken to catahoola state pentatintury....where I was LOST IN THE SYSTEM THROWN INTO GENERAL PO. FRO ALMOST A YEAR........YEAR .....A YEAR can I stress again I was arrested for a misdomeanor and a probation hold
when I finally retuned to new orleans to stand triall I saw a re-electio ad compain for sherriff marlyn gusman
it went like this....................

Beginning in March next year, we are inviting 9 people to cruise from Bodrum, Turkey along the Turkish coast, Cyprus, Athens, Alexandria on a share expenses basis (very, very inexpensive). We began a documentary in Paris and Turkey last year, and now as it gets warmer in Turkey we are going to complete it. We have a US distributor, and everyone involved will share in profits. It could be quite profitable for you and a real life changer. We are in pre-production of three others...one on black jazz in Paris after WWII until now. We have a Turkish captain/crew/cook on our 70' Gulet, 6 double staterooms still available, all with their own head (toilet and shower). Qualifications? Simply to be able to get along with people. Age? Our producer is 60, our editor is 25. Age inmaterial if you are young in spirit. If you have video experience (HD MiniDV PAL and Final Cut Pro, writing) all the better, but we are doing this to perhaps expand the focus of our documentary which is based on the mystical aspects of Alexander the Great - Title: Force of Evidence. Creative people get free reign as long as they don't sink the ship or the project. We are interested to add some human interest...profound, provocative, funny...to the program, so film making experience in not a requirement. Come for a week or two months. Email me for details.

I have ready-made works for sale. However, I specialize in custom altered art that is created with your own themes, images and momentos to create a personal relationship with the object. I'm hoping visitors will be inspired to participate in the creative journey, whether for their own personal enjoyment, as a memorial for rememberance of someone or something special, to use smaller items as focal points or accents in their own work, or for gifts for special occasions such as weddings.

One World Looking for art supplies donations.

One World Foundation, a new non-profit organization, is searching for donated arts supplies to be used in several arts colleges started by friends of mine in East Africa.

They have started Cultural Arts Colleges, as well as a Maasai womens
group, and an environmental education group. They're really commited
and awesome inspiring people really.

For the arts college we're trying to round up materials to help them
do the teaching. We're looking for wood carving tools, crochet
needles, used Art books, and any other arts supplies that we can find
such as beeds, paints, and other things, as long as they aren't too
heavy, and easily applicable to their programs we would love to use
them.

This is a really good chance to give to a really amazing group of
individuals. These people have built their own organizations from
nothing with absolutely no money and no help from anybody. It's a
pretty inspiring tale really.

So if anyone knows a way to help that would be pretty damn amazing.

My new wedding shrine commission

My work is mostly created by commission for custom work, as I most enjoy creating pieces with the recipient in mind and according to their personal desires. My website can be seen at http://www.fragileindustries.com.

My most recent commission was for a wedding shrine for an outdoor wedding in Oregon. A shrine or altar is a devotional object, a three-dimensional assemblage with a wood base somewhat like a cabinet or box, depending on your your needs. It can be a memory object, including momentos or photos of your own choosing, and I build thematically from there. In the case of a wedding, special event or occassion, a shrine can memorialize a past wedding or be a part of the ceremony and/or event itself. They can also be wonderful gifts for such occasions.

This piece was for inclusion in the wedding ceremony and celebration, a three-day event which sounded like one part Burning Man, one part Renaissance Fair, and a great portion of the creativity and originality of the delightful couple themselves. The bride and groom wanted their guests to complete the shrine with embellishments I provided in keeping with their theme. I duplicated the beautiful colors of the invitation and painted the base, a intricately carved antique wall cabinet about 18"x9"x4" with two doors opening into a large interior recess, and two drawers underneath. I applied a collage of images, both those provided by the couple, and from Asian and Indian art (their theme) on flat areas of the surface, and applied gold leaf to the molding and elements of the carvings. I antiqued the finish with a variety of glazes and shimmery acrylics, and sent it off with more collage images (peel and stick), handmade paper on which the guests could write their good wishes to put in the drawers, and three-dimensional objects that would coordinate well, such as hand-blown glass beads, Asian coins, hand-painted and embellished tiles, pressed flowers, and so on. I even included an easy-to-use adhesive method to avoid sticky mess. The couple was ecstatic and the guests had a great time helping to create a completely personal work of art that will have great meaning for years to come.

Selected photos of this semi-completed work and its embellishments as I sent them out can be seen on my Tribe photo album (accessible by a link under my photo on my personal page). I will include photos from the ceremony and the finished product when I receive them. My Tribe album also includes selected images of my other work: altered books and shrines in various styles.

Need an appraisal on ancient chineese painting

Can anyone tell me how to get an appraisal on an ancient chinese painting? It was a gift to my father-in-law in the 60's from the son of a chinese general, and he was told not to sell it till after the end of the century. My father in law can't remember what dynasty it's supposed to be from, Han or Yan, something like that, but it's an early 4-dicipline style. ANy ideas?

Huichol Yarn Paintings from the '70's

I have a number of wool Huichol yarn paintings for sale. Below is a blurb I wrote for Cresencio Perez Robles. I also have a few by the late great Guadelupe Gonzalez Rios. The pictures all come from the estate of an American Doctor working in Tepic in the '70's.
Modern Huichol yarn paintings are acrylic, these are wool.

Historic Huichol yarn painting by Cresencio Perez Robles one of the founders of Modern Huichol yarn paintings.

This 24 X 24 yarn painting is by master artist Cresencio Perez Robles. Perez’s work was included in book Art of the Huichol Indians, which accompanied an Exhibition of Huichol Indian Art, organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The exhibition traveled from San Francisco in 1978 to Chicago and New York. It was this show and the accompanying catalogue that first introduced Huichol yarn painting to the general public.
Cresencio Perez Robles work was also featured the exhibit Living Traditions Mexican Popular Arts in 1992 at the University Art Museum at Albany State University of New York and the accompanying book of the same title.
This picture was made in the 1970’s of wool yarn pressed onto wax spread on a wooden board. Today yarn paintings are made of acrylic yarn. On the back the artist wrote the meaning of the piece in both Huichol and in Spanish and it is signed by the artist.
The painting is in pristine condition. It has been attached to a sturdy poplar brace and is wired for hanging.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for making me feel welcome here...I would love some feeback from you nice people type creatures. This sounds pathetic, but - Do you know anyone who would be interested in my stuffs? (that sounds bad...) I am trying to sell my creations to help fund a trip(s) to the doctor for my foot...I can't do my normal stagehand gigs because the foot is always angry and bulbous...yay... Any tips on how to get my name out there would be appreciated! I have created 3 pages for myself and have people posting my links on their sites...but I have had limited success. sigh...I remain happy, just frustrated. No insurance right now...it was too expensive. So, yeah...any help or advice would be well received...If you ever visit Norfolk, VA I will buy you a beverage of your choice.....Thanks!
